Feb 18, 2010: Mailed Gladney group 1 documents
Feb 22, 2010: Mailed Gladney group 2 documents
Mar 5, 2010: FBI fingerprinting
Mar 8, 2010: Mailed Gladney group 3 documents
Mar 19, 2010: Home study
Apr 16, 2010: Received FBI clearance
Apr 30, 2010: Gladney approved!
May 7, 2010: Received CIS appt.
May 18, 2010: CIS fingerprinting appt.
May 26, 2010: CIS approval!
Jun 2, 2010: Dossier submitted and ON THE WAITLIST
Oct 18, 2012: REFERRAL for 6 month old girl!!!
Nov 8, 2012: submitted to court
Nov 29, 2012: scheduled MOWCYA review
Dec 17, 2012: MOWCYA approval and notification of court date
Dec 24, 2012: first time to see our little girl in person!
Dec 25, 2012: Christmas with our little girl!
Dec 26, 2012: court date!
Feb 19, 2013: Took placement - Forever Family Day!
Feb 21, 2013: Embassy appointment
Feb 23, 2013: Home!

Update from the 6 month mark!

Well, we have officially been on the waitlist for 6 months and 1 day now! This is a pretty monumental point, since the average wait for referral is about 9 months. As usual, the month of December is going to fly by. We're excited about the possibility of a call coming as soon as March.

We did something a little unusual this year and spent Thanksgiving in the Caribbean on a cruise with my entire family - 10 of us. We had a wonderful time. We realized this would be the last time we packed our suitcases and went off on a journey before we go to see our little one in Ethiopia - our last trip before we're parents. Next trip: AFRICA!
